About Me

Hello! I am Abha Chaudhary, a PhD researcher in Formal Methods at Binghamton University, working under the guidance of Professor William Hallahan. My research focuses on verifying functional programs using symbolic execution, with broader interests in symbolic reasoning, and automated theorem proving. Recently, I gave a talk titled “Verifying and Refuting Properties using Symbolic Execution” on my current research at the Upstate PL Seminar.

About My Journey

My academic journey has been shaped by a strong interest in programming languages, formal methods, and automated reasoning. I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Computer Science at Binghamton University under the guidance of Professor William Hallahan. My research focuses on formal verification of functional programs, with a particular emphasis on using symbolic execution to reason about program behavior and correctness.

Through my research, I have become interested in understanding how we can automatically explore program behaviors, identify potential errors, and establish correctness properties in a systematic way. My work has also led me toward program synthesis, where I am interested in techniques for automatically generating programs or program components that satisfy given specifications.

Overall, my research interests lie at the intersection of programming languages, formal verification, symbolic execution, and program synthesis, with the broader goal of developing techniques that make software more reliable and easier to reason about.
